Darkest Dungeon II Arrives On Nintendo Switch On July 15th

Darkest Dungeon creator Red Hook Studios has proudly announced as part of the Nintendo Direct that Darkest Dungeon II, their grim turn-based roadtrip RPG, will release on Nintendo Switch on July 15th, 2024.

Players can now pre-order the game in the Nintendo eShop for $39.99, 38,99€, £34.00 with a launch discount of 15%.

Having previously launched on PC via Steam and Epic Games in 2023 and achieving almost 15,000 player reviews and critical acclaim, the upcoming release on Nintendo Switch will arrive alongside Sony’s PlayStation 4 and 5 versions, with all current updates and DLC.

In addition to the main game, the DLC ‘The Binding Blade’ will also be available on Nintendo Switch. Players have the option to purchase the Oblivion bundle – containing the base game and DLC – on the Nintendo eShop.

Key features of its update include the addition of two playable heroes, The Duelist and The Crusader, as well as the roaming mini-boss The Warlord. A major new campaign game mode, ‘Kingdoms’, will arrive as a free content update later this year.

This mode challenges players in a desperate race against the clock to find and defeat a monstrous threat before it overwhelms and destroys the Kingdom.

Darkest Dungeon II invites players to embark on a thrilling journey through five campaigns, known as “Confessions”, each featuring their own terrifying boss and pervasive mechanics. Including the Duelist and the Crusader, players can now choose from a total roster of 14 playable heroes.

Other features include the extensive metagame progression hub “The Altar of Hope”, 10 companion pets with different run-defining properties, and optional thematic difficulty modifiers in the form of the Radiant and Infernal Flame equipable items, for those who want less or more challenge.

Darkest Dungeon II arrives on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on July 15th, 2024.
