Whats your story? Whats my story? This seems to be what developer BioWare is trying to approach based on the new trailer.

The trailer shows what looked to be a more cinematic approach to the narrative, viewed from a first-person perspective. “Your choices matter” is declared in the trailer, but to what extent? I guess we’ll find out only after the game launches.
What’s confirmed so far in the trailer is a mode called “Free Play”, which is basically ‘Free Roam’ lah, where you can roam freely about without the shackles of a mission and its requirement.
A demo for the game has been announced for next year, on February 1, 2019, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
