Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC)LEVEL UP PLAY-ONE, in its debut year, pulled together a wide-swath from the games industry, from game developers to content streamers and even esports operators. Celebrating a powerful finish at its first virtual games expo, hosts Digital Creative Content division from the MDECrounded off the weekend event on high. Garnering some 3.8 million views, attracting 139,935 unique viewers on Facebook and producing 22 streaming sessions that featured games and industry-related content, members of the public and industry players alike participated in various gameplay showcases, discussion panels and webinar-based activities that saw 16 speakers from across Southeast Asia take the “stage”.
Pivotal in that the event moots a new hybrid format reflective of a post-Covid gaming scene and community engagement, LEVEL UP PLAY-ONE showcased Malaysia’s vibrant games and esports ecosystems to participants spanning nearly a half-dozen countries, with the online nature of the event enabling attendees as far as Russia and Poland to attend.
