    Resident Evil Village showcase shows more story and The Mercenaries Mode

    During a Livestream of the Resident Evil Village showcase, Capcom has revealed more information about the story of the game with the new and revamp mode The Mercenaries.

    The showcase reveals more scene involving Ethan as he keeps on running into Chris Redfield during his investigation. Another mysterious character, Karl Heisenberg is shown as he captures Ethan and drags him on the ground in the trailer. A new demo for Resident Evil Village will be released from 2 May till 3 May. Players can spend up to 60 minutes exploring either the castle or village area of the game. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users will be getting early access to 30 minutes demo called 8 Hours in Village which will allow them to explore the 2 different areas for 30 minutes on 2 separated sessions.

    A surprise during the showcase is the return of the action-paced mode, The Mercenaries. This bonus mode will be available in the game after the player completes the main game. It now features a first-person view and more. The game is simple, just reach the end goal before the timer runs out. You have to do this by defeating enemies in each area. You are allowed to pick your weapon and abilities to suit your fighting style. The Duke’s Emporium also makes an appearance to help you purchase or upgrade your weapons between areas.

    Resident Evil Village is set for release on 7 May 2021 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
