Publisher 2K Games and developer Hangar 13 have announced that they will be releasing Mafia: Trilogy for various platforms allowing players to relive the life of a gangster across three different eras of organized crimes in America.
The trilogy will include all three Mafia games:
- Mafia: Definitive Edition – The built-from-the-ground-up remake of the beloved classic;
- Mafia II: Definitive Edition – The ultra HD remaster of the fan-favorite;
- Mafia III: Definitive Edition – The re-introduction of the award-winning narrative masterpiece.
Both Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition will include all the bonus add on contents that has been released thus far.
Mafia: Definitive Edition, on the other hand, will be built from the ground-up remake of the original Mafia game. There will be an updated script with rich new dialogue, expanded backstories, and additional cutscenes added into the game. Mafia: Definitive Edition will be running on the same engine as the original Mafia 3 and will include an all-new gameplay sequence and features.

Title Availability and Upgrade
All 3 titles will be available to be purchase either as a bundle or separately. Upon release, Mafia II: Definitive Edition will be given to all players who previously bought Mafia II on Steam at no additional cost. Mafia III owners on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam will also be upgraded to Mafia III: Definitive Edition for free also once both games are launch respectively. Customers who own a combination of titles will receive a social discount upgrade offer to complete their trilogy.
Mafia: Trilogy – Digital vs. Physical
Those who purchase the game digitally before the 28th of August 2020 will be able to play Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition on their PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Steam when it launches on the 20th of May 2020. Mafia: Definitive Edition, on the other hand, will be available to be downloaded once it becomes available on the 28th of August 2020.
Physical copies of Mafia: Trilogy will become available on the 28th of August 2020 in the US and currently have planned release in selected territories within the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) region.
