    Singapore To Host The Asian Edition Of The World’s Largest Gaming Expo, Gamescom, In 2020.

    Rejoice Asians! Especially those of you in the South East corner of the continent!
    A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and Koelnmesse, the gamescom organiser, to bring the prestigious gamescom conference to Asia for the first time. The gamescom Asia will debut in Singapore next year, in 2020 from October 15 to 18.

    The conference will Singapore will bring about a two-day industry gaming conference and a three-day trade and public exhibition including esports, new technologies in video games, workshops, fan beloved meet-and-greet sessions with industry heroes and veterans, and cosplays! (duh!)

    gamescom is a trade fair for video games and is held annually in Cologne, Germany since its inception back in 2009. Last year’s gamescom attracted 370,000 visitors including 31,000 trade visitors. By comparison, the Paris Games Week only had 316,000 visitors last year, and the Tokyo Game Show only attracted 299,000 visitors in 2018. The Cologne-based gamescom is the largest event of its kind in the world.


    Venue to be announced.
    The hosting venue for gamescom Singapore has not been decided yet according to the organiser, however, they are hoping to attract 30,000 gaming enthusiasts and industry professionals to the event when it launches next year.
