Death Stranding – The Man with the Golden Mask

Kojima Production has done it again! Showing us another glimpse of Death Stranding to keep us guessing on what exactly is this game. Is it an open world walking simulator? Is it an action game? Whatever it turns out to be they certainly know how to grab our attention and keep us hungry for more.

The latest teaser was shown at Tokyo Gaming Show 2018 appropriately titled “The Man in the Golden Mask” with what seems to be an antagonistic new character (voiced by the always reliable and versatile Troy Baker) crossing paths with main character Sam Bridges:

As shown above, The Man with the Golden Mask is able to somehow summon an otherworldly creature which I shall name “The Giant Scary Doggo with a Golden Mask” (while simultaneously trolling with another mask hidden underneath). It is unclear how he is doing it as it could be a form of magic or matter manipulation but at least it looks very cool. The trailer ends right before we find out is this going to be a boss fight or is the Golden Mask Doggo going to help Sam Bridges carry his stuff across the open world

All we know so far is this official description by Kojima Productions about the game:

Besieged by death’s tide at every turn, Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the stranded remnants of the future in his hands, Sam embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world one step at a time. What is the mystery of the Death Stranding? What will Sam discover on the road ahead? A genre defining gameplay experience holds these answers and more.

With little information about the game, Hideo Kojima still describes it as an action game with interesting open world elements. So far there still has been no further announcements on the release date and how combat will work (or how anything works for that matter). All we know is stay tuned for more information hopefully in the near future because the thirst is real.

He is actually very shy, introvert but no choice, have to go out to buy games. He likes food and food likes him. He somehow manage to find a job with the right time accommodate to gaming. He has a very short attention span, therefore has to finish a game fast or else a simple pun can distract him for the entire day. Yes a Pun, he loves puns as much as he loves games; easily distracted, whichever comes next.
