Priced slightly more expensive than the non Super sibling, the RTX 4070 Super comes in as a new contender in the 1440p gaming bracket. Additionally, this model boasts a 20% increase in cores compared to the RTX 4070, enabling it to outperform the RTX 3090 (with DLSS 3) while using significantly less power.
Built on NVIDIA’s Ada Lovelace architecture and supports full ray tracing, the RTX 4070 super offers all the good stuffs that comes with this generation of GPU. With NVIDIA DLSS 3, it improves game performance and image quality efficiently. The RTX 4070 is also equipped with 4th Generation Tensor Cores, which provide a significant boost in performance compared to standard rendering methods, and 3rd Generation RT Cores that offer improved ray tracing performance.

The ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 Super integrates several outstanding features which are common to ASUS GPU. In terms of design, the RTX 4070 Super is 2.56-slot GPU which is tailored for better casing adaptability and compatibility, even in smaller PC cases.
In the cooling department, it features the Axial-tech fan design. This design includes a compact fan hub for longer blades and a barrier ring to increase air pressure, improving cooling efficiency. The 0dB technology allows for quieter operation during less intensive tasks. Additionally, the GPU uses durable dual ball fan bearings, designed to outlast traditional sleeve bearing models.
Durability and precision are also key aspects of this GPU. It is constructed using the Auto-Extreme manufacturing process, which enhances the overall reliability of the card. For owners interested in customizing their GPU’s performance, ASUS provides the GPU Tweak III software. This software facilitates easy adjustments in performance, thermal controls, and system monitoring, enabling users to tailor their gaming experience according to their needs.
As with all ASUS Dual GPU, the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER is a dual fan GPU with a physical bios toggle for OC and Quiet settings. From the first glance, the external designs doesn’t look any different from its Dual RTX 4060 and Dual RTX 4060Ti sibling – sharing the same look in terms of aesthetics. It comes with a half and half transparent and opaque dark grey enclosure. On the back is still the black protective backplate with geometric patterns found on all the RTX 40 Dual cards by ASUS.
While it may look similar in design, the physical measurements are different. The entire GPU takes up 2.56 slots on PCIE placement and measures at 267.01mm(L) x 133.94mm(H) x 51.13mm(D).
Given the limited duration we had to test the GPU, our evaluation of the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER is solely focused on its performance in 1440p gaming. Stay tuned as we update this article with further results in the future.

In synthetic benchmarks, the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER demonstrated impressive performance, particularly in 3D Mark tests. When compared with the RTX 4070 and RTX 4070Ti, the RTX 4070 SUPER shows a notable improvement over the standard RTX 4070, exhibiting performance levels that are more closely aligned with those of the RTX 4070Ti.
1440p Gaming Benchmarks
The ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER showcased outstanding performance in gaming benchmarks, effortlessly surpassing the 120fps threshold in a majority of games. This high level of performance underscores its capability to handle demanding gaming scenarios with ease. However, it’s important to note that the improvements in frames per second (FPS) when using DLSS were marginally less significant. This could be attributed to a potential driver issue encountered during testing. For instance, in games like F1 2022, the Frame Generation feature of DLSS 3 was not accessible as the GPU was not recognized as DLSS 3 compatible, likely due to this driver issue.
In terms of Ray Tracing, the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER performed impressively across all four tested games, particularly when DLSS was enabled. This boost in performance with Ray Tracing and DLSS reflects the GPU’s proficiency in rendering complex lighting and reflection effects, enhancing the overall visual quality and realism in games. The combination of these advanced features ensures that gamers can enjoy a more immersive and visually stunning gaming experience, even in the most graphically intensive scenarios.

The thermal management of the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER stands out as a key strength. During synthetic benchmark tests, the GPU exhibited higher temperatures, but it’s important to contextualize these results. The elevated temperatures seen in these tests were due to performance stress testing, which often involves pushing the hardware to its limits under conditions that are more extreme than typical gaming scenarios. This difference in testing conditions is crucial in understanding the thermal performance of the GPU.
When it comes to real-world gaming performance, the thermal efficiency of the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER is quite impressive. The highest temperature recorded during gaming sessions was a mere 65 °C, with an average temperature of 62.3 °C across a variety of games. This demonstrates the GPU’s capability to maintain cooler operating temperatures even under load, which is particularly notable considering its dual fan setup. The effective thermal management not only ensures sustained performance but also contributes to the longevity of the GPU.
Regarding power consumption, the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER maintains the RTX 40 series’ reputation for efficiency, drawing an average of 218W with occasional peaks reaching 220W.
