Strategy game, Driftland: The Magic Revival is coming to consoles

Previously launched for PC back in April 2019, a real-time strategy and god game Driftland: The Magic Revival is coming for a for console release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch, as announced by developer Star Drifters with their collaboration with SimFabric.

“We are very happy that Driftland will be available to console players, especially since many of them are strategy games fans, We will do our best to make rebuilding of the magical kingdom as comfortable and enjoyable as it is for PC gamers. The already existing command system and dynamic time control with active pause will certainly help here.”
Co-founder and game designer Michal Sokolski

From casting spells to buildings, the console version will replace it with an active contextual field in the middle of the screen instead of a cursor for PC version. While players provide orders to units replacing it’s “tedious micro-management” of directly controlling over them.

And the story goes like this

The aftermath of a devastating war between ancient mages leaves the lands shattered but left afloat and bound by a powerful spell in a planet of Driftland.

With many dark ages passed, a new hope glimpsed once more in the form of a new source of magic but at a price of new dormant conflicts resurfaced once again. With newly emerged mages such as yourself taking on the role of a Mage Overlord. Use your unique powers to explore this procedurally generated world and reconnect the floating lands in order to expand your kingdom.

    Key Strategic Features

    • Procedural generated world for more replay value.
    • Manage your resources and magic-based economy.
    • Move and terraform scattered landmasses with magic.
    • Your units are able to tame all manner of flying beast such as dragons as an aerial unit.
    • Set your goals to your units instead of directly controlling them.
    • Comes with various modes consisting of single-player, campaigns, and multiplayer.

Prepare to reconnect the lands with magic this coming Q1 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch.
