Cross-play has been a hot topic this year to the point Sony opening it’s doors to the idea a few months back. Dragon Quest Builders 2 will be allowing some kind of cross-play between PlayStation 4 and Switch owners. The developers of the game spoke with Famitsu magazine and have said certain functionality in the game will have cross-play. There will be a bulletin board which players can share photos using the new Photo Mode in the game. Another function is the ability to share islands made between both platforms. Though there is no news about playing together, this is a step in the right direction.
The Japanese version of Dragon Quest Builders 2 is slated for a 20 December 2018 released with an English version to be announced later.
