The second Malaysia Esport Championship 2021/2022 (MEC) began on 14 December 2021, with a total of 4,871 players registered. Through Esports Integrated (ESI) effort to build strategic partnerships with industry players to provide opportunities for the local gaming community and to grow a thriving scene in Malaysia, Moonton, has allowed the 2 top teams from Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) to earn a seat slot into Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Season 9 Top 8 Qualifiers.
For PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile (PUBG Mobile), the teams will compete through 3 phases of qualifying competitions during MEC 2021/2022 with the champion automatically going through into PUBG Mobile Professional (PMPL) Season 5 Qualifier Finals.
