SEGA has announced their own re-released of its well-known classic console, the SEGA Genesis Mini. The console is a tiny-sized recreation of the popular SEGA Genesis that was released back in 1988.
The console itself during that time was a huge hit and went on to garner over 30 million in sales throughout its lifetime. So, long story short, it’s back again.
Southeast Asia distributor Epicsoft Asia Pte. Ltd. has announced that the SEGA Genesis Mini will be available at Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines, come September 19 this year. The distributor has also confirmed on the list of games pre-loaded, as well as the selling price for the 5 countries mentioned.
Much like the other retro mini consoles, the SEGA Genesis Mini will feature 42 classic games – a much larger library comparative to the other consoles. The SEGA Genesis Mini is also 55% smaller than its original form and comes with a very convenient volume slider control on the front face of the console. The console is equipped with 2 USB-connected controllers with a 3-button layout, retaining the same design and size as its original.

- Malaysia – 359.00 MYR
- Thailand – 3,390 THB
- Indonesia – 1,499,000 IDR
- Philippines – 4,500 PHP
Pre-orders have started at all major retail partners throughout the Southeast Asia region while online pre-orders will be made available closer to the date of the launch.
