    The ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition is a collaboration between ASUS ROG, renowned esports professionals, as well as Aimlabs, the company behind the famous aim training software. Priced at RM 599, this gaming mouse is one of Asus highest priced gaming mice in the market – even higher priced than the famed ROG Gladius III Wireless AimPoint.

    The Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition is currently available in two colours, Black and Moonlight White and both colour variants comes are also available in the Ace Esports Collection which includes the ROG Hone mousepad. This review will feature the ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition in Moonlight White.

    Weight

The lightweight design, at only 54 grams, plays a crucial role in reducing strain on my wrist and hand.     Over time, I’ve noticed a marked difference in how my wrist feels during and after extended gaming sessions, affirming the importance of a lighter mouse for users with similar conditions.

    Grip

    Following my experience with the ROG Harpe Ace, I’ve observed that its design is particularly accommodating for palm and claw grips. Contrary to its advertised ambidextrous nature, the mouse seems to favor right-handed users, primarily due to the positioning of the thumb buttons. The mouse’s size is on the larger side, making it a better fit for those with medium to large-sized hands.

    Constructed from bio-based nylon, the mouse’s exterior has a matte finish. The sides of the mouse are also designed with horizontal ridges to improve grip. However, the surface may not offer sufficient grip for users with sweaty palms. Fortunately, the inclusion of grip tapes in its design enhances its usability, making it more versatile and suitable for a broader range of users.

    Switches and Click Feel

    The ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition is equipped with ROG Micro Switches, known for their durability with an impressive average lifespan of 70 million clicks.     However, despite the high-quality switches, there’s a noticeable aspect in my experience due to the mouse’s ultra-light shell. This lightness, while beneficial in many ways, imparts a somewhat ‘hollow’ feel to the overall tactile experience. The interaction with the mouse doesn’t carry the same solid, grounded sensation typically found in heavier mice. This hollow feeling might be slightly off-putting for users accustomed to a more substantial feel in their gaming mice.

    Nonetheless, this aspect does not significantly affect the overall performance, and the exceptional quality of the switches still stands out, offering a comfortable and responsive gaming experience.

    Performance

This sensor offers an astounding 36,000-dpi resolution, reported to have an unparalleled precision and sensitivity. Based on my testing, with custom configurations on Armory Crate, the ROG Harpe Ace is definitely able to reach a DPI as high as 36k but that setting itself is too high for my preference. In games such as Valorant and Overwatch 2, i tend to have my default at the range of 4000DPI, and if the mouse has a quick switch button, the quick switch will be anchored at 800DPI for fine adjustments.

    While the max settings did not cater to my preference, the high dpi range on the Harpe Ace is definitely allows users to fine-tune their settings to an extraordinary degree, catering to the minutest preferences in cursor speed and control. Whether it’s for detailed graphic work or fast-paced gaming, this sensor adapts seamlessly to a wide range of demands, ensuring that every movement is captured with exceptional accuracy.

    The other remarkable aspect of the ROG Harpe Ace is its industry-leading <1% Counts Per Inch (CPI) deviation. This technical capability means that the mouse delivers incredibly consistent tracking, with nearly perfect accuracy in translating hand movements to cursor movements. Such precision is crucial for tasks requiring high levels of accuracy and consistency. This low CPI deviation ensures that the mouse responds predictably to user inputs, a feature especially important in competitive gaming scenarios where every fraction of a second and every pixel of movement can be the difference between victory and defeat.

The wired USB mode is ideal for those who prefer a stable, direct connection with minimal latency, particularly useful in competitive gaming where every millisecond counts – and it comes with a super soft theme matching paracord!

    The 2.4 GHz RF mode provides a reliable wireless connection, offering freedom from cables without sacrificing performance. For everyday use and multi-device connectivity, Bluetooth mode is a convenient option, allowing easy switching between different devices such as laptops, tablets, or mobile phones. This flexibility in connection modes makes the ROG Harpe Ace a versatile choice for a wide range of applications, from high-stakes gaming to casual browsing.

    Battery Life

    With a month’s worth of gaming on the ROG Harpe Ace, ASUS’s claims about its battery life seemed quite accurate. When using Bluetooth, the battery life extended up to around 99 hours, and in 2.4 GHz wireless mode, it lasted close to 90 hours without RGB. With the RGB turned on, the battery life was slightly reduced, offering about 70+ hours on Bluetooth and about 68 hours on 2.4 GHz mode. Although ASUS doesn’t specify the polling rate, my usage suggested that it’s likely around 1000 Hz for 2.4 GHz and 133 Hz for Bluetooth, the latter being the maximum possible for Bluetooth devices.

    OMNI Receiver

    When it comes to connectivity convenience, the ROG Omni Receiver adds significant value. This single USB receiver can simultaneously connect one compatible keyboard and one compatible mouse, like the ROG Harpe Ace and the ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless keyboard. This feature not only streamlines the user’s desktop setup by reducing the number of required USB ports but also ensures a seamless, interference-free wireless connection for both devices.

    My personal experience using the ROG Harpe Ace Aim Lab Edition mouse in combination with the ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless keyboard has been exceptionally positive, particularly in gaming scenarios.
