Capcom has sold almost 12 million copies of Monster Hunter: World in less than a year of its release. Monster Hunter World was launched on the 9th of January 2018 on PS4/Xbox One and 9th of Aug 2018 on PC. It is now officially the best selling Monster Hunter game in the series and one of the best selling Capcom game followed by Resident Evil 5 with 7.4 million sales. In total, the Monster Hunter franchise has sold 53 million units in its lifetime with Monster Hunter World contributing 22% of the total.
