    Playstation 4-Month of May Game Releases

    Seeing the month of April had amazing releases, we are now looking forward to the month of May to keep up the momentum.

    Let first go through the list of retail games (Available on Disc or PSN)

    2 May 2017 – Akiba’s Beat (PS4 & PSVita)
    After over 2 years since the last game, Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed, this action RPG game returns. Release in Japan last year in December, now it will be release in NA for fans to play coming 2 May.

    2 May 2017 – Portal Knights (PS4)
    Release for steam early access last February, this game gain quite a following. Blending between building games such as minecraft and role playing aspect, this sandbox multiplayer game looks like a good contender for the genre when it release on 2 May.

    May 5 2017 – World to the West (PS4)
    From Rain Games’ who made Teslagrad, comes a new platformer puzzle game set in the same universe. This game with its top down 3D view and four playable characters releases on 5 May.

    9 May 2017 – Birthdays the Beginning (PS4)
    From the creators of Harvest Moon (Mr. Yasuhiro Wada), Birthday the Beginning is a sandbox game which lets players create worlds which will in turn create unique lifeforms. Advance world building features allows the players to create an ecosystem of their own. We will see how players do when given this tool on 9 May.

    16 May 2017 – Injustice 2 (PS4)
    After the success of Injustice: Gods Among Us 4 years ago, the sequel to DC Comic’s fighter game has return. With new characters and story, this game looks set to be one of the biggest fighting game this year when it releases on 16 May.

    16 May 2017 – Farpoint (PS4+VR)
    Sony Playstation VR has a couple of nice First Person Shooters currently but non of them was hype up as much as Farpoint. Needless to say, will this game be a changing point for Playstation VR? We will find out when it releases in 16 May with a bundle with the PS VR Aim. (Take note that this game does not support the Move Sharpshooter)

    16 May 2017 – The Surge (PS4)
    Developed by Deck 13 Interactive who was behind the Lords of the Fallen game 3 years ago. It seems to move away from being a Souls clone, this time they bring us into the future. With new combat mechanics and modern character progression, this modern take on the hack and slash genre sound interesting. Coming on 16 May.

    17 May 2017 – Flatout 4: Total Insanity (PS4)
    Flatout is a arcade racer game with a lot of crashing in mind. With its rag doll physics and crazy modes, players will find what enjoyable way to crash when it release 17 May.

    23 May 2017 – Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada
    Base on the Samurai Warriors series by Koei Temco’s Omega Force, this spin off introduces new characters to the Samurai Warriors series. This hack and slash game will release on 23 May.

    23 May 2017 – Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception (PS4, PSVita)
    One half of the continuation of the Utawarerumono series planned to release this year by Atlus. This Strategy RPG with its anime art style and hours of adventure are sure to keep you occupied till the second half, Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth releases somewhere at the end of the year. Till then, enjoy Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception when it releases 23 May.

    23 May 2017 – Summon Night 6: Lost Borders (PS4, PSVita)
    Another Strategy RPG in May? Yes please. Summon Night 6 is the second Summon Night to be translated after Summon Night 5. Newcomers are welcome to try as there is no pre-requisite to play the previous games. Summon Night 6: Lost Borders will be release on 23 May.

    26 May 2017 – RIME (PS4)
    After nearly 4 years in development with changing studios and publisher, the once Playstation Exclusive RIME finally arrives. With its cell shaded art puzzle adventure. This might please fans of such games like The Last Guardian which was a masterpiece. RIME arrives on 26 May.

    26 May 2017 – Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2
    The seventeenth installment in the guilty gear series. Rev 2 will included new rosters and story sure to please the fans of this fighting series. Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 releases on 26 May.
