PlatinumGames has gone all serious with Babylon’s Fall

Babylon’s Fall, the name itself isn’t really a stranger. We first heard it during E3 2018 with a rather brief reveal trailer that shows a glimpse of images of a fantasy setting but not gameplay. This time PlatinumGames released another reveal trailer during the State of Play segment. This time around, the trailer features more of its fantasy setting but this time with actual gameplay. From what we can see, the game has all the hallmarks of a PlatinumGames creation. The game features high-speed hack & slash action, cool-looking armours and towering enemies. However, the game’s tone certainly taking a more serious direction compared to their more charm and humorous Bayonetta series and the cheesy but fun Vanquish. While it certainly can be said that the tonal influence of Babylon’s Fall has something to do with the collaboration with SquareEnix considering it isn’t their first to be working together. 2017’s Nier Automata was a monumental hit and the influence certainly can be felt here.

Nonetheless, we are still looking forward to their latest project together. Babylon’s Fall has no release date yet but the possibility of it coming in anytime next year is certainly there.
