Pathea Games, the studio behind the beloved My Time series, has officially announced its next title, My Time at Evershine. Along with the announcement, the studio released a brief teaser trailer, giving fans an early look at the future of the My Time franchise. The trailer hints at notable improvements, with enhanced graphics and a more mature character design—departing from the traditionally youthful aesthetic seen in previous titles.
What we know about My Time at Evershine so far;
My Time at Evershine takes place three years after the events of My Time at Sandrock and Portia, set in a wholesome post-apocalyptic world where players take on the role of the Governor of Evershine Settlement. Your mission is to build and manage a new city-state in the contested Northern Eufaula region, where tensions between the Duvos Empire and the Principality of Ethea are rising.
Key gameplay features include:
- Settlement Building: Choose between prefab designs or custom-build your home and town. Your followers help bring your vision to life, making each settlement unique.
- Romance & Relationships: Develop romantic relationships with eight core NPCs, including two chosen by backers, and meet over 20 unique NPCs with their own personalities.
- Multiplayer Mode: Play the full story with up to three friends. Together, build the settlement, battle enemies, and explore dungeons.
- Follower System: Assign up to three NPCs to help you in battle, construction, or resource gathering.
- Customization & Exploration: Customize your character, climb and glide across the world, and enjoy a variety of seasonal events, mini-games, and side quests that deepen the experience.
Kickstarter starts this September 24th.
In a Reddit post, Pathea Games shared their vision for Evershine, stating they are aiming for significant graphical improvements and a more refined gameplay experience. This ambition is reflected in the character designs showcased in the trailer, which display a more sophisticated look, suggesting a shift in the series’ visual style.
The studio revealed that My Time at Sandrock, the second and latest game in the series – cost around $12 million USD to develop, and a similar budget has been allocated for Evershine. However, to exceed the expectations set by Sandrock, Pathea Games has announced plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign on September 24th to secure “every bit of extra support” for their ambitious project.
Pathea’s first game, My Time at Portia, brought a fresh perspective to the farm-life simulation genre but faced technical challenges at launch. In contrast, My Time at Sandrock received widespread praise for its improvements, from expanded world design and engaging audio-visual effects to memorable character designs and an intricately woven storyline—all delivered with much-improved graphics.
With the studio’s growing experience and the lessons learned from its previous titles, there’s good reason to believe that Evershine could become the pinnacle of the My Time series when it finally launches.
This is definitely one to watch in the coming months or years, as Pathea Games looks to take their beloved series to the next level. We’ll keep you posted if there’s anything new on this front.
