    Final Fantasy XIV online community grows to over 16 million players worldwide

    The highly acclaimed MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV Online by developer Square Enix, has amassed more than 16 million players worldwide in recent times, as mentioned during a Letter from the Producer LIVE in San Francisco. Within the time span of the game’s release, they’ve accumulated a healthy amount of critical adoration and passionate freedom.

    This momentum carries into the upcoming release of the game’s third major expansion, FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers.

    The trailer above showcases the various new abilities for all jobs in the game. Producer and Director, Naoki Yoshida, also mentioned several other key features in the upcoming expansion which include :

    • Details on battle system changes, including the introduction of the charged action system.
    • Updates to the FATE system, side quests, as well as the addition of role quests.
    • Adjustments to job synergy and re-balancing of jobs
    • Various quality of life changes and UI updates







    This expansion marks the first time that Warriors of Light travel the rift between worlds to become Warriors of Darkness, to ensure the safety of the world from an apocalyptic ending promised by the Flood of Light. The expansion is filled with new additions including the new Dancer and Gunbreaker jobs, Hrothgar and Viera races, an increased level cap, sprawling new areas, raids, and much more.







    The new and official FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers benchmark is also available now for download. With the addition of new Shadowbringers footage, the benchmark also allows players to create their characters as they appear in the game. Characters created via the benchmark tool can also be ported into the full game.

    FINAL FANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers debuts on July 2nd. Players may also pre-order all versions of the game here at the official pre-order website.
