XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc, announced that their action RPG, AKIBA’S TRIP: Undead and Undressed Director’s Cut, has been released on Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe and is available for purchase digitally or as a limited physical Day 1 Edition in North America through participating retailers and the XSEED Games Store.
AKIBA’S TRIP: Undead and Undressed Director’s Cut comes complete with the all-new story chapter “Kati’s Route” as well as all DLC from the original game. Considered the “true ending” to the game, “Kati’s Route” follows the Finnish transfer student and part-time maid as she contends with a mysterious and malevolent force awakening within her. “Kati’s Route” is also available for purchase digitally as DLC for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC for owners of the original game. The PS4 version of the DLC is published on the PlayStation Store in Europe by NIS America to ensure compatibility with their previously released version.
Updated from its original release for a new generation, AKIBA’S TRIP: Undead and Undressed Director’s Cut places players in the role of Nanashi, an otaku mysteriously transformed into a vampire and thrust into a conspiracy of “Synthisters” plaguing the electronics mecca. Alongside a colorful cast of allies known as the “Akiba Freedom Fighters,” Nanashi must defend his fellow otaku from vampire predators, discovering that the best strategy to defeat them is to strip them of their bare essentials and expose them to the cleansing power of the sun! Featuring a fully voiced “true ending” route starring lovable maid Kati, original side quests introducing more offbeat otaku denizens of Akihabara, and an arsenal of new weapons and armor, AKIBA’S TRIP: Undead and Undressed Director’s Cut brings a modern supernatural adventure for the Japanophile of discerning tastes.
- Kati Takes Center Stage: Experience the “true ending” of the game’s story for the first time. When a mysterious and malevolent force slumbering inside Kati awakens, will you be able to do whatever it takes to save her?
- More Side Hustles: From a body pillow connoisseur to Japan’s oldest cosplayers, help out the locals in over a dozen new side missions and pick up wild new weapons and armor along the way.
- Revisit the Glory Days of Japan’s Electronic Mecca: Like a virtual tour of Tokyo’s Akihabara ward, all major outdoor locations from the town have been painstakingly recreated circa 2012-2013, with over 130 real-life shops accurately represented.
- Completely Customizable Combat: When you’re an otaku, anything from baseball bats to comics to motherboards can be a weapon. Plus, you can target and strip individual clothing items from enemies to add to your own inventory.
