A patch has been released for Battlefield 2042 that addressed bugs and other feedback areas affecting players in the game. There are also some quality of life changes with some brand new features included.
What’s New?
The first new thing is weekly missions, which will be coming in Battlefield 2042, giving players a total of three varying missions each week. Completing these missions will grant players unique cosmetic rewards.
Battlefield Portal will also receive new game mode layouts for Rush on all All-Out Warfare maps. Several new templates for Builder are added with a new custom mode called Vehicle Team Deathmatch, which allows you to utilize combat vehicles in custom experiences. It will also support logic created in the Rules Editor, allowing players to spawn at team HQ and adding more options when creating custom games.
Finally, they also added a new option in the Rules Editor that checks the source of fatal damage to a player. This opens out tons of opportunities to change the gameplay and build of the map.
Quality of Life
Certain changes to the Collection menu is changed to make customizing your loadout and Plus Menu easier and require fewer clicks. It will also be easier now to understand which attachments are locked, in use, equippable, or newly unlocked within the Collection.
UI also received a few enhancements in increasing visibility and reduced clutter through for example player world icons now scaling in distance. IFF (Identify Friend or Foe) marker improvements are also added to indicate nearby players who you can revive or be revived by, or who is low on health or ammo.
Lastly, smoother transitioning between game menus, the Options menu, and matchmaking.
Gameplay
Several improvements have been made to make the experience of interacting with the maps feel smoother. This includes over 150 individual fixes, small changes, and improvement across all the maps where we noticed they were detracting gameplay such as spawning, visual glitches, or collision issues. There are also fixes to audio, rendering and interaction improvements and fixes for weapons, vehicles and specialists.
There will be one more small update in early December which focuses more on balance changes and general bug fixes. You can see the full patch notes from Battlefield 2042 Official Post Here.
