A New Era Begins Now with Hunt: Showdown 1896, Out Now On PC, PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series X|S

Crytek is thrilled to launch the new era of Hunt with Hunt: Showdown 1896, out now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Fight for survival and profit in a world where supernatural horror and the thrill of the bounty reign supreme with an all-new Colorado biome, Scorched Earth Event, Wild Target, weapons, Hunters, and more.

Leaping forward chronologically and heading west of the bayou, Hunt: Showdown 1896 brings with it the power of CRYENGINE 5.11, which brings a highly anticipated overhaul of visuals, audio design, rendering performance, and more.

Players will also be welcomed back to the bayou post-launch with the original maps overhauled and restored in stunning detail. Hunters are invited to jump into the action for free on PC with a Steam Free Weekend running from August 15th – 19th.

    New Colorado Map: Mammon’s Gulch

In Mammon’s Gulch, visit 16 unique compounds spread across the Rocky Mountain peaks and ravines of the new Hunt biome.

Pass through the torched towns, delve deep into the mines, avoid new threats, and take advantage of the terrain as you explore new strategic vantage points and tactics.

Take to the high ground in the struggle against rival Hunters, or venture down into the Gulch’s deep mines to face untold horrors.

    New Wild Target: Hellborn

An amalgam of fire and flesh and a source of immense heat, the Hellborn can be tracked audibly by listening in Dark Sight.

Boiled up from the depths of Mammon’s Gulch, this new Wild Target can be found at multiple locations, stalking the land until provoked into explosive response.

Posing an entirely new threat, the Hellborn moves frantically to slag trespassing Hunters, scorching everything in its considerable reach.

Be warned—the Hellborn is best dispatched quickly, as its raging howls attract the attention of other Hunters across the Gulch, multiplying the threat minute by minute.

    Scorched Earth

Hidden beneath the lush forests and soaring hilltops, Corruption boils from the mines and oil wells below the surface. Unlock more of the Mammon’s Gulch story via the in-game Scorched Earth Event.

Running from August 15 – October 7, Hunters are invited to face the fire to earn new equipment, ammo, and weapons, including the 1865 Carbine, the Infantry 73L base rifle with a sniper variant, Bear Traps as a new Tool, and more.

We’re also welcoming a completely new Weekly Challenge system to better support players joining the action mid-event, as well as a Battle Pass full of both free and premium rewards to unlock.

    Tech Upgrades

Thanks to the integration of CRYENGINE 5.11, the new experience brings a leap in visual fidelity, with improvements across textures, lighting and animation, improved audio design, and much more.

Console players can experience Hunt: Showdown 1896 with native 4K & 60FPS support on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and 60FPS and 2k for Xbox Series S.

Other features of Hunt: Showdown 1896 include improved gunplay and gameplay changes, controller improvements, new wildlife, and more.
