Bordeaux studio Motion Twin announced the deployment of a major update for Windblown Early Access: available to everyone, it adds new equipment and offers many improvements of all kinds for the ultra-fast-paced action game from the creators of Dead Cells , playable alone or in cooperation.
Beyond these new features, the studio is pleased to announce that over 250,000 people have already been fluttering between the sky islands of Windblown Early Access since its release last October. To celebrate the event and the arrival of this major update, the game is enjoying a 20% discount on Steam until January 2, 2025*.
Discover the main new features of the update:
- New Revenge Mode: Based on community feedback during the first weeks of Early Access, Revenge Mode replaces the previous Sudden Death multiplayer mechanic to boost players when their comrades fall in combat. You’ll gain increased speed and power to avenge your teammates, but be warned: enemies will become even more ruthless!
- Two deadly new weapons: the Umbrella and the Fiery Claws arrive with new animations, new critical hits, and powerful Alterattacks to provide new possibilities for the Voltigeurs who tackle the challenges of the Vortex. Both weapons can be found by completing mid- and late-game challenges, rewarding the most daring with new ways to slay the adversary.
- Four Powerful Trinkets: Explosive new synergies emerge with the arrival of these new trinkets, ideal for refining your Bleed and Mark builds. One of them even lets you summon a robot companion capable of attacking your enemies from a distance!
- Four New Skins: Voltigeurs who dominate the game’s toughest events are rewarded with new cosmetic items like Toad and Horned Lizard.
- Added Russian and German: Windblown is now available in Russian and German (text and interface), bringing the total number of languages available to nine. More will be added as Early Access progresses!
- A host of other improvements: accessibility options, new cursor-pointing algorithms to improve keyboard/mouse handling, and a new Pause option in single-player mode are among the exciting programs included in this update. Finally, a whole series of new improvements to existing biomes and enemy behaviors help refine and improve the gaming experience.
