VALORANT’s VCT Pacific Is Set To Kickoff – Here Is Everything You Need To Know

Riot Games has announced that VCT Pacific will return for the second year. This year brings a few changes to VCT and you can read all about it in this blogpost or the video below.

VCT Pacific is one of four international leagues in the expanded VCT structure that now includes VCT Americas, VCT EMEA and VCT CN. This year, there will be 3 global events for teams to qualify for; Masters Madrid, Masters Shanghai and Champions. Teams will qualify for the global events via Kickoff, Stage 1 and 2. There will also be an additional team qualifying for Champions via Championship Points, earned through consistent team performance throughout the whole season.

The time is now for teams to prove their mettle and begin the fight for the crown of Pacific champion. Check out this format explainer video for more information on this year’s VCT Pacific tournament.

Apart from fighting for a chance to qualify for global events, Pacific teams will also be fighting for a USD 250,000 total prize pool.

As the first tournament of the year, VCT Pacific Kickoff will determine which teams qualify for Masters Madrid. This intense 8-day competition will help to set the bar for excellence through the rest of the year.

    Kickoff Format

Kickoff will be split into 3 phases. Teams will fight through a total of 19 matches across 8 days.

Group stage will be played in a GSL format with 11 teams seeded randomly into 3 groups. As Pacific Champions last year, PRX will be automatically seeded into Group C.

This is followed by Play-ins which will be structured in a single round robin format. The 4 remaining teams that make it through will qualify for Playoffs where they will fight through a single elimination bracket.

The top two teams will earn a spot at Masters Madrid, the first global VCT event for the year.

    Schedule

VCT Pacific Kickoff will begin on 17 February and will run until 25 February. Matches will begin at the following times:

    • Group stage (17 – 21 February)
      • Matches on 17, 19 and 21 February will start from 15:00 KST // 14:00 GMT+8
