Last year’s favourite horror game is back with a new story. The Dark Pictures: Little Hope is the second instalment of the Dark Pictures Anthology. This time it involves witchcraft and witch-finders and the horrors that come along the way. When Man of Medan involves entirely in a ship, Little Hope tells its story of an abandoned town of the same name.
The Curator returns to narrate the entire story as well as giving brief cryptic hints as he did in the first game. The trailer gives a glimpse of characters that will play a role in this particular story. If one of the characters looked familiar then your attention is warranted. English actor Will Poulter who have starred in various movies you may have watched. Horror movie fans may recognize him immediately from his latest movie, Midsommar which came out last year.
Much like many towns in early America, Little Hope is gripped by the fear of witchcraft and witch-finders are employed to hunt them down. However, as The Curator explains that there is a possibility sinister influences behind the whole witch hunts. It will be up to the player to uncover the truth by making critical choices that bears heavy consequences. Hence the lives of the characters that you will be playing will depend on those choices you make. In addition to that, the story will be told through the past and the present timeline.
Supermassive Games revealed that two modes will be back which are Movie Night and Shared Story. The former which is basically for couch gaming with 5 players with each will be passing the controller around to move the story. Whereas the latter will be an online mode which can be played concurrently with another friend.
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope will be available for PS4, Xbox One and PC this late summer.
