The classic hit Streets of Rage has come a long way for almost a century. Developers Dotemu and Lizardcube seem to be making good progress with the game and this time with some throwbacks added into the mix.
You will see the return of the original pixel sprites characters from the original. Furthermore, it also comes with the classic moves from the original such as Axel’s ability to call in rocket launcher armed cops.
This is more than just a cosmetic change. In addition, other characters from the original will join the fray which makes the total playable characters to 17. The 16-bit original soundtrack composed by Yuzo Koshiro will also be added in. Those that have played the original Streets of Rage 1 & 2 will definitely remember the iconic music.
In regards to the game’s release date, there hasn’t been any confirmation yet. While there was a leak that pointed to April 23rd, developers have come out saying that it is actually inaccurate.
Streets of Rage 4 will be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Developers Dotemu and Lizardcube have promised to reveal the release date very soon. So stay tuned.
