Sabotage Teases 3 Player Couch Co-op Mode As Sea of Stars Surpasses 5 Million Players

The acclaimed turn-based RPG Sea of Stars has surpassed a milestone of 5 million players this month, and in celebration developer and publisher Sabotage Studio released a teaser of a new mode coming to the game: three-player couch co-op.

Dubbed “Single Player+”, this mode allows for three players to journey together in Sea of Stars. Staying true to the game’s core turn-based roots, each player will engage in traversal and combat with a new “Co-op timed hits” mechanic as they embark with friends on Sea of Stars’ grand adventure.

The new mode is currently in development and more details are set to be released soon.

Winner of Best Indie of 2023 from The Game Awards, Sea of Stars is the second game from Sabotage Studio and takes place in the same universe as The Messenger, the studio’s award-winning debut.

The turn-based RPG is inspired by the heights of ‘90s role-playing classics and follows the story of the two Children of the Solstice and their journey to combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of fending off The Fleshmancer.

Launched last summer to critical praise from media and fans, Sabotage Studio’s Sea of Stars is available across PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One for $34.99.

It’s also free to subscribers to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass, as well as PlayStation Plus’ Extra and Premium membership tiers. For more of our past reviews of the game, check out this link here.
