Outnumbered But Never Outfought, A New Hero Rises As DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS Brings Massive Three Kingdoms Battles Home

KOEI TECMO America and developer Omega Force announced that their exhilarating tactical action game, DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS, is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam.

Boasting the most intense combat and largest armies in DYNASTY WARRIORS franchise history, the 1 vs. 1,000 musou thriller transports gamers to a tumultuous, war-torn Three Kingdoms.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS introduces a new, deeper interpretation of the traditional Three Kingdoms storyline, which depicts ancient Chinese history. From the “Yellow Turban Rebellion” to the climax of the “Battle of Chibi”, the story of DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS drops players into the heart of an ancient China in turmoil.

Through the eyes of a nameless hero, players will have to fight fiercely while making bold choices in order to restore peace and shape history to their own experience, battling enormous enemy armies while navigating the chaos of the Three Kingdoms era.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS delivers an overwhelming sense of realism on every battlefield, with the largest number of soldiers in the series’ history, intermingled and fighting with their own individual wills.

Enemy soldiers attacking in cooperation are extremely formidable, and you must not only fight with your own skills, but also charge forward with your allies to clear the way. Once you push up the battleline and are prepared to fight, you and your allies can charge into the massive armies of enemies, experiencing a sense of realism of the battlefield on an unprecedented scale where thousands of soldiers collide.

The protagonist of this title throws himself onto the battlefield alongside the heroes of the Three Kingdoms, wiping out swarms of enemies using swords, fists, and various other weapons. Traveling across the world map as they embark on their epic journey, players can suppress rebellions or choose to rescue government forces during “Missions”, overcome “Skirmishes”, and visit various locations where they will be able to buy weapons.

Throughout their quest, players will also encounter a variety of characters familiar to the DYNASTY WARRIORS franchise, such as Cao Cao and Liu Bei. Depending on the bond forged, these characters can become either traveling companions or enemies.

In 1 vs. 1,000 combat, players will have to master and alternate between swift and powerful attacks that can break an opponent’s guard. Repeated attacks will increase the protagonist’s “Bravery”, enabling them to use powerful and unique attacks called “Arts”.

These “Arts” will be unique to each weapon, so it will be crucial for players to master the various arsenal at their disposal, allowing the protagonist to gain “Rank” and thus improving their skills.

Not only will players have to master the protagonist’s various attacks if they want to emerge victorious on the battlefield, but they will also have to strengthen their defense. By blocking enemy attacks at the right moment, they can unleash a powerful riposte, “Parry”, which creates a breach in the enemy’s defense.

Some attacks cannot be blocked, so players will have to dodge them before counterattacking.

DYNASTY WARRIORS: ORIGINS is now available as a standard and Digital Deluxe Edition on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, digital artbook and soundtrack, and useful in-game items.

Everyone who purchase a physical or digital edition before Jan. 30, 2025 will receive the Soundtrack collection as a bonus, which includes tracks from the early titles of the series.
