Netmarble, a renowned developer and publisher of high-quality mobile games led by Young-sig Kwon and Byung Gyu Kim, announced that it has unveiled the newest entry based on “The King of Fighters” IP at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2024.
Netmarble debuted its brand-new title THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK by premiering its teaser trailer at the SNK booth during TOKYO GAME SHOW 2024, which runs from September 26th to 29th.
THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK is a character collectible AFK RPG based on SNK’s “The King of Fighters” IP and is currently being developed by Netmarble Neo, a developer with extensive experience in collaborating with SNK.
This new title features iconic characters from “The King of Fighters” series reimagined in pixel art graphics that gamers are familiar with from THE KING OF FIGHTERS R-2 on Neo Geo Pocket Color, which was developed based on THE KING OF FIGHTERS ‘98.
In addition, THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK brings together key characters from “The King of Fighters” series to maximize the fun of collecting characters, and the game’s unique combat system will set it apart from other King of Fighters series and enhance the excitement of strategic play and character development.
“The King of Fighters” is an iconic fighting game series that led the fighting game craze in the 1990s, with 15 numbered titles released to date. “The King of Fighters” series and its characters have been receiving strong support among fans around the globe for decades as the series’ systems and stories have evolved over time.
