Capcom recently adds a few videos for Monster Hunter Rise showcasing the Lance, Long Sword, ‘Heavy Bowgun’ and ‘Light Bowgun’ movesets. More details below:
Lance
Stoic, poised, and precise. The Lance is a weapon with excellent defensive and evasive capabilities. Guard or step-dodge enemy attacks to stay on the offensive as much as possible. “Twin Vine” is a silkbind attack that tethers you to your target allowing you to swiftly close the gap while guarding!
Longsword
Cool, calm, and collected. The Long Sword relies on consecutive slashes to charge up the Spirit Gauge, then unleash powerful Spirit Blade attacks, calculated dodges, and counterattacks.
Heavy Bowgun
Outstanding, overpowering ordnance. The Heavy Bowgun channels its weight into firepower, being able to load Wyvernheart or Wyvernsnipe ammo to cover any range or situation.
“Free Silkbind Glide” is a silkbind attack that allows for fast repositioning with multiple follow-up options.
Light Bowgun
Versatile combat at any range. The Light Bowgun excels at various roles, from rapid-fire barraging to inflicting status ailments and supporting the hunting party.
“Fanning Vault” is a silkbind attack that vaults you into the air to rain down shots from above, reload, or even fire a Wyvernblast directly below.
Monster Hunter Rise is an action RPG that will transport players to the colorful Kamura Village, which attracts visitors with its unique culture and innovative hunting technologies. After hunters equip their armor and select from one of the various weapon types, all-new hunting grounds await, including the ancient Shrine Ruins and more. The debut of the new “Wirebug” mechanic allows for wire-based grappling actions that can be used to scale cliffs and other hard-to-reach areas, providing new traversal and aerial attack options.
Monster Hunter Rise will also debut new hunting partners called Palamutes, personalized and rideable “Canyne” companions that will provide players with a new set of attack options, while “Felyne” Palicoes will return as support characters for actions like healing. As players defeat monsters and progress through the game, items from fallen foes can be used to craft unique weapons and armor that will increase their chances of future success and survival. Hunters can tackle these challenges solo, or with up to three other players in local or cooperative online play, while also taking advantage of the versatility of the Nintendo Switch system, which allows for hunting anywhere, anytime and with anyone!
In addition to the Standard Edition (physical and digital) of Monster Hunter Rise, a special digital Deluxe Edition will include the Standard Edition of the game, as well as a digital DLC pack voucher that can be redeemed for bonus in-game content such as a “Kamurai” full layered armor set, exclusive gestures, cosmetic items and more.
The game is set for release on Switch on March 26, 2021, worldwide.
