Cutting to the chase
Alright, no flowery words this time. Priority graphics, graphics and graphics! The first thing we did was to schedule Antutu, Geekbench 4, and 3d Mark for bench marking purposes. Out of the three, Antutu and Geekbench 4 failed to install; this is probably because they couldn’t register the Honor 8x as it’s an unreleased model for now (or maybe for some other reasons, who knows.). Then we followed with a quick game of PUBG just to have a look and feel of the 8X while gaming.
3dMark Results
In 3dMark, we’ve tested it under the Sling Shot and Ice Storm Extreme section. For those who aren’t familiar, Slingshot is a test for mainstream smartphones while the Ice Storm Extreme is created specifically for the low cost smartphone segment.
As for the results, the 8X performed below par in the Sling Shot and aced the Ice Storm Extreme. Attached below are the screenshots of the test results for those who are interested or scroll further down for the layman summary.

It’s always PUBG. Somehow or rather, PUBG have established itself as the standard go to game when it comes to reviewing a mobile phone’s capability in gaming. If you do have a better suggestion, please feel free to share your opinion with us on our Facebook page. So let’s get straight to the screen recording!

Summary
TLDR Version : The Honor 8X is not for serious gaming, but it’ll work just fine for casual gaming.
PUBG on the 8X is only possible with the lowest setting. Any settings on balance and above will definitely cause frame rate spikes and that’s definitely not what we want in a game where your response is of utmost importance. As for the device’s temperature, it wasn’t unbearable but it did heat up pretty quickly.
