Developer Double Stallion is excited to share the next look at its upcoming sun-soaked co-op extraction ARPG, Surfpunk, with a new overview trailer highlighting what to expect in the game.
In this special Director’s Cut of the Surfpunk overview trailer, creative director Eric Angelillo reveals footage showcasing The Fallen World and the tsunami-scale action that awaits players ready to dive in.
Control seafaring Raiders venturing from their home base, the Beastship, to explore ancient island ruins and scavenge for precious materials found there.
Making its debut during The MIX November Showcase, players can get a first look at the Anchor weapon class with its heavy melee-ranged hybrid gameplay built around positioning a throwable anchor and chain.
Not only can it crush enemies in hand-to-hand combat, but players can throw it and either recall it in a speedy fashion, or pull themselves to it for new combo dynamics and more.
And when that’s not enough, a shotgun-like cannon equipped with it will blast surrounding enemies away.
Each expedition begins with players leaving the Beastship on their Rushboards to travel between islands, collect loot, and extract it successfully before moving on to the next, all while shredding mysterious ink-like monsters known as Sumi to pieces.
Work together with other players in co-op and think creatively to survive.
Efficiency is key, however, as players have limited time to complete each run before a giant tsunami washes over the island, leaving them to surf back to safety atop this massive wave. Enjoy the splendors of your raids by customizing your Raider, crafting new weapons, and upgrading your gear aboard the Beastship before it’s time for another run
