Kazunori Yamauchi, the President of Polyphony Digital and creator of Gran Turismo game have shared on PlayStation Blog that the studio’s highly-anticipated upcoming title, Gran Turismo 7 will launch on March 4, 2022, simultaneously on both the PS5 and PS4 consoles.
Return of the GT Campaign Mode.
Relating to long-time fans’ desire to see the return of the beloved GT Campaign Mode, Yamauchi confirmed that the campaign will make a return in GT 7.
Players will be starting from the GT World Map in the newly designed campaign mode, setting them once more on a path of unique experience.
Livery Editor and Showoff.
GT 7 will see the continuation of the Livery Editor, another beloved feature by the fans that allows them to design and decorate the looks of their vehicle.
Amazed by the quantity and quality of the liveries by made GT Sport players, Yamauchi shared that the studio will be focussing on delivering a Livery Editor in GT 7 that improves the User Interface, utility, and accessibility.
On top of the Livery Editor mode, the Polyphony Digital President shares about Scapes and how the mode provides the perfect opportunity to take photorealistic shots of the players’ cars. Up to 2,500 locations over 43 countries will be available as backdrop with HDR technology, expert-level effects and even panning shots. Shots taken can then be shared with fellow enthusiasts.
One for the Car Collectors.
The GT Cafe is a mode in GT 7 that serves cars as their main ‘dish’. With a specially crafted menu with its own progression and missions, completing them will net players various prize cars.
Other than GT Cafe, players can also complete various races for rewards from Brand Central and the Used Car Dealership in the game.
Tune your car.
Well, of course, there’s tuning. This is a GT game and GT 7 will come with customisable options down to the smallest details that affect the behaviour of your ride.
And through tweaking and tuning of the engine performance, suspension, transmission, gearing, brakes, tires, and others, players can jack up their stock cars into something they really want.
GT Auto is back together with changes on wheels, wide-body modifications, roll cages, aerodynamic parts, as well as oil changes and car wash.
Breakthrough on Time and Weather change Simulation
For GT 7, Polyphony Digital has come out with a unique time and weather change simulation where the complexities of nature were observed through meteorological data and then tailored those conditions into the game.
According to Yamauchi, the studio has recreated the spatial / time of day conditions for particle size distribution including the concentration in the distribution of aerosol particles in the atmosphere on a global environmental scale, in a procedure that is unique to the Gran Turismo series.
Gran Turismo 7 is launching on March 4, 2022, on both the PlayStation 5 and 4. More news on the game will be coming soon in the next few weeks, stay tuned!
