Blizzard Entertainment has revealed the details about the new class coming with Diablo 4‘s upcoming expansion Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, the Spiritborn. The class channels animal Spirit Guardians of the Jaguar, Eagle, Gorilla and Centipede to unleash devastating attacks on enemies. It reminds me of DC Comic hero Vixen with how each attack animation has a shadow of the spirit being used.
The four spirits represented the damage and skill type as below:
- Jaguar: Fire damage and multi-attacks
- Eagle: Lightning Damage and mobility
- Gorilla: Physical damage and mitigation
- Centipede: Poison damage and debuffs
There are some passive depending on which spirit you choose as your Primary Spirit and Secondary Spirit. and you can switch anytime out of combat. So if you choose for example Jaguar, all your other skills will also get the Jaguar skill tag which opens a variety of combinations and combos.
Spiritborn seems like a versatile class that will give players who enjoy theory crafting builds a run for their money. You can read more information about the class in Blizzard’s Official Post or watch the full Spiritborn Reveal livestream below.
Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred is planned for release on 8 October 2024 and is an expansion for Diablo IV which is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
