Dead by Daylight Introduces 2v8 Mode, Cross-Progression, and Lara Croft in July Update
Dead by Daylight is launching a series of significant updates this July, including the addition of Lara Croft, a new 2v8 game mode, and the introduction of cross-progression. These updates were announced following the game’s 8th Anniversary Broadcast and promise to enhance the multiplayer horror experience.
Dead by Daylight x Tomb Raider
Lara Croft, the iconic Tomb Raider, joins the roster of Survivors in Dead by Daylight. Known for her resourcefulness and survival skills, Lara brings three new Perks—Finesse, Hardened, and Specialist—highlighting her abilities as an athlete, adventurer, and archaeologist. The Dead by Daylight: Tomb Raider Chapter is available now, allowing players to step into Lara’s boots and navigate The Entity’s Realm.
2v8 Game Mode Arrives
Launching on July 25th, the 2v8 Game Mode introduces a new level of chaos and excitement to Dead by Daylight. For the first time, two Killers will team up to hunt eight Survivors across five expanded classic maps. Survivors will need to repair 8 out of 13 generators to escape, and downed players will be sent directly to Cages instead of being hooked. The new class system for Survivors and enhanced powers for Killers are designed to encourage teamwork and strategic play. This limited-time mode will be available until August 8th.
Cross-Progression
Starting July 22nd, Cross-Progression will be available, allowing players to sync their progress and purchases across different platforms. This feature has been highly requested by the community, offering a seamless experience for those who play on multiple devices. Players need a Behaviour Account and must own the base game on their chosen platforms. Detailed guides and FAQs will be provided to assist with the setup.
The Casting of Frank Stone Release Date
Supermassive Games and Behaviour Interactive have announced the release date for their collaborative single-player game, “The Casting of Frank Stone,” set for September 3rd, 2024. The game will delve into Dead by Daylight’s lore, offering a new cinematic experience. Pre-orders for Standard and Deluxe Editions are now open, and a new trailer focusing on the “Murder Mill” narrative has been released.
