Game Delayed.
In case you missed it – The developer of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red has announced that the game will have a new launch date. Previously planned for a November 19, 2020, launch, the release has been pushed back by 21 days and will now launch on December 10, 2020.
Launching on 9 platforms is a pain.
The biggest challenge, the developer said, was to prepare and conduct tests for 9 versions of the game, namely on the current-gen and next-gen consoles, including Stadia and PC, while working from home. With the title having evolved almost to that of a next-gen quality title, they had to make sure the game runs smoothly on every version.
But it has gone gold!
Understandably, fans did not welcome the news especially since CD Projekt Red had previously announced the game going gold and even replied in the comments then that there would be no more delays.
The developer admitted that they have undercalculated this period of time where improvements to the game are still being made/added. A game going gold indeed meant it was ready for the public, they said, however, “That doesn’t mean we stopped working on it and raising the quality bar”,
Cyberpunk 2077 will be launching on all major platforms including Stadia and PC on December 10, 2020.
