Publisher Private Division has announced on their Twitter that The Outer Worlds’ coming to Nintendo Switch will be delayed due to the Novel Coronavirus outbreak at the home country of the team handling the port, Virtuos Games.
The tweet triggered a series of responses from concerned fans voicing their approval to the decision to postpone the game’s launch – calling the safety of the folks at Virtuous a priority. Private Division then followed up with another tweet, assuring everyone that the folks at Virtuos Games are okay, but their office has remained closed due to the outbreak.
The publisher will announce the new launch date for The Outer Worlds on Nintendo Switch soon, according to their tweet. On a happier note, the publisher has shared that the game will release in physical cartridge form when the game is ready to hit the market.
To clarify, the team at Virtuos is ok, but their office has remained closed during this time. We're working with the team to determine an updated development timeline, and will share more regarding a new launch date shortly.
