The esports scene is set to heat up as the Asia Pacific Predator League returns for its sixth edition, boasting a prize pool of USD400,000 and the opportunity for gamers to cement their place in esports history. Organized by Acer, this prestigious event will feature intense competitions in two of the most popular esports titles: Dota 2 and VALORANT.
For the first time, the Grand Finals of the Asia Pacific Predator League will be hosted in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in January 2025. This marks a significant milestone for the tournament, which has previously been held in major cities like Jakarta, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Manila, as well as online during the pandemic. The league has grown from eight participating regions in its inaugural edition to 15 regions today, collectively awarding USD1.75 million to winners over the years.
Andrew Hou, President of Acer Pan Asia Pacific, expressed his excitement, saying, “Gaming is a passion and powerhouse pillar for Acer. We have journeyed with the growth of this industry that has evolved into mainstream entertainment. Every Predator product that we develop is designed with these users in mind. And, the Asia Pacific Predator League connects us with this thriving gaming community. We are excited to once again host this tournament that has become a signature feature of our efforts in fostering competition and engagement with the gaming ecosystem, from the local qualifiers to the intense Grand Finals scheduled for January next year.”
