AP Bren has risen again as the second-time champion, a first-ever for any Mobile Legends: Bang Bang professional team at the M5 World Championship. The final took place yesterday where AP Bren faced off with ONIC ID in what fans would call an epic matchup.
The M5 World Championship also saw over 6,000 offline audiences in the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, with a new record-breaking viewership high of 5.06 million according to Esports Charts. Both teams reached not one but two epic match points thanks to a reversal by ONIC ID in the third match and the sixth match. This marks the first 4-3 in the M Series in three years, with the epic reverse sweep reminiscent of the M2 World Championship by AP Bren. This was due to the team realising at the crucial second match point that Kairi was the key to ONIC ID’s strategy.
“The fight against ONIC ID was epic. They took advantage of what they could, and we chose heroes that could go up against their picks in the last match.”
