2K changing its pace following future plans for the WWE Games family

2K has published their future plans and what will be in store for the WWE Games family following the criticism WWE 2K20 faced this year. The letter also overviews the path forward for the WWE 2K series and exciting news for WWE SuperCard that is also in the pipeline.

2K started off their news by announcing a new game in the line up of the WWE series, which comes with an arcade-y twist, WWE 2K Battlegrounds. A completely new WWE gaming experience that will feature arcade-style action and over-the-top Superstar designs, environments and moves. A sight similiar to WWE All Stars on the previous-gen consoles, WWE 2K Battlegrounds brings back a very familiar gameplay that was loved by many, adding a wide array of new features to the game. Developed by Saber Interactive, WWE 2K Battlegrounds provides another way to enjoy WWE video game action, whether you’re a casual gamer just learning the ropes or a passionate fan ready for all the action. The game is scheduled to launch this fall. More information about the game in the coming months.

As for WWE 2K20, all the responses, feedbacks were very welcomed by 2K and the team, which they continue to listen closely. Since launch, there have been five title updates, addressing hundreds of reported concerns, and the release of four WWE 2K20 Originals DLC expansions to build on and improve the experience. The plead to also keep WWE 2K19’s server up and running was also heard and heeded by the company.

As part of the commitment of providing an excellent experience to their users, 2K will be extending the production timeline and will not be releasing a WWE 2K simulation game in 2020 (T2 fiscal year 2021). This is to ensure the development team at Visual Concepts can create a great game that will entertain grizzled WWE 2K veterans, as well as newcomers who want to climb through the ropes and step into the ring for the very first time.

As for other news, WWE SuperCard is now in its 6th season, reaching a new milestone too with more than 20 million installs as it continues to entertain legions of players with its unique approach to collectible card-battling action. Cat Daddy has done a great job building and maintaining such a successful game that continues to entertain MILLIONS (and millions) of players.
