HUAWEI Malaysia has announced that the company’s new flagship 5G capable tablet is within reach soon for Malaysian consumers. Touted as Malaysia’s first 5G tablet, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 5G tablet will be hitting the shelves come June 26, 2020.
The tablet will launch at an affordable retail price of RM 3,299 with the specification of 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM and comes in the elegant Forest Green leather finish.

Embedded in HUAWEI MatePad Pro 5G is the latest Kirin 990 5G SoC, manufactured with the 7nm+ EUV process to deliver enhanced performance and power efficiency.
With a base clock of up to 2.86GHz, the CPU inside adopts an innovative triple-tiered architecture comprising two big cores, two mid cores, and four tiny cores. The 16-core Mali-G76 GPU greatly improves performance and battery life for a smooth gaming and entertainment experience.
The Kirin 990 5G SoC in the tablet supports both non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) architectures and TDD/FDD multi-frequency bands, enabling it to accommodate diverse networks and networking modes for global travellers to enjoy high-speed 5G connectivity.
With Huawei’s proprietary Da Vinci NPU architecture, AI computing capabilities are optimised by balancing load between the two big cores and a tiny core. Equipped with up to 8GB LPDDR4X dual-channel RAM, the tablet can launch apps at blazing fast speeds.
All this performance is supported by the industry’s first ultra-thick 3D graphene cooling system that synergizes with AI for heat management, allowing the tablet to remain cool even when demands are high. This cooling mechanism also benefits other scenarios that typically generate high amounts of heat, such as downloading files on a high-speed 5G connection and wireless/reverse wireless charging.
5G Cloud Gaming breaks down the barriers between platforms and improves gaming experience with the 5G network. The tablet only weighs less than 500g and measures just 7.99mm thick, which is suitable for long-hours gaming experience.
The tablet is armed with a high-capacity 7250mAh battery and power-saving features integrated into Kirin 990 5G SoC and EMUI. It supports the 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge, allowing users to charge their tablet extremely quickly. The device also supports 27W wireless charging and up to 7.5W wireless reverse charging.
