HoYoverse unveiled details about Genshin Impact’s upcoming Version 4.2, titled “Masquerade of the Guilty.” Slated for a November 8 release, this update will provide a sequel to events that began in Version 4.0, presenting the Traveler and the denizens of Fontaine with new challenges.
The unfolding storyline reveals Fontaine on the edge of catastrophe, with its impending submersion by the Primordial Seawater posing a threat to its populace. Notably, even the Fatui Harbinger, Arlecchino, steps up in these trying times.
Compounding the dangers, the waters awaken formidable foes and monstrous entities, including the All-Devouring Narwhal and the Hydro Tulpa, both of which are set to challenge players with their distinct abilities.
In terms of gameplay enhancements, players can anticipate the addition of two central figures from Fontaine: the Hydro Archon Furina, a five-star Hydro sword user, and Charlotte, a four-star Cryo catalyst user.
Furina’s distinctive combat abilities allow her to switch between two Arkhe alignments, altering her elemental skills, while Charlotte melds her journalistic profession with her combat abilities, employing a unique Kamera Monsieur Verite.
The expansive game world grows further with the addition of Erinnyes Forest and the Morte Region to Fontaine’s map. Here, players can undertake the World Quest “The Narzissenkreuz Adventure,” delving deep into the mysteries of the Primordial Sea.
Erinnyes Forest presents an environmental challenge with its contaminated bacterial mats, which players can purify with the assistance of the Xenochromatic Ball Octopus. Additionally, players will join Freminet and a mechanical penguin named Thelxie in investigating rumors surrounding Water Imps on Erinnyes Island.
This update also brings a series of in-game events, incorporating mini-games and exclusive rewards. Among these is an intriguing photography event in Fontaine, granting players access to a novel gadget, the Special Analysis Zoom Lens.
Masquerade of the Guilty – Genshin Impact’s Version 4.2 will be available on November 8. Here’s hoping we have enough Primos to spend on the Hydra Archon, Furina.
