To encounter Pecharunt, players must first navigate through several prerequisites in their Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. This includes completing a specific postgame event and the narratives of Part 1: The Teal Mask and Part 2: The Indigo Disk. Additionally, players need to acquire a Mythical Pecha Berry via Mystery Gift in their game.
Once these conditions are met, the journey leads to Mossui Town in the land of Kitakami, where visiting Peachy’s with the Mythical Pecha Berry might trigger a unique event involving Pecharunt.
Pecharunt, initially perceived as a mere decoration in a shop, harbours a unique ability. It creates Binding Mochi from poison secreted by its shell and uses it to control those who consume it, including people and Pokémon.
The Binding Mochi is not just delectable but also seems to unlock the deepest desires and latent powers of those who eat it. Pecharunt is also known for its cunning behaviour, such as feigning weakness to gain sympathy.
There’s a lore surrounding Pecharunt that it travelled to Kitakami long ago with the Loyal Three, whom it had subjugated using its Binding Mochi, to acquire certain masks from an elderly couple. This quest led to a battle with Ogerpon, resulting in Pecharunt’s defeat and subsequent withdrawal into its shell, eventually becoming known as the Never-Rotting Peach.
Pecharunt is a Poison/Ghost-type Pokémon with a unique ability, Poison Puppeteer. This ability causes Pokémon poisoned by Pecharunt’s moves to become confused. Its signature move, Malignant Chain, is a poisonous chain attack that can leave targets badly poisoned.
