After the initial announcement by Netflix on the animated movie Ni no Kuni, another CG movie is making its way into the same channel as well in the form of a dragon. In this case, Dragon Quest: Your Story which was released back in August 2019 for Japan is currently making plans to reach out to the western audience and what better way than through Netflix. This is based on events in the previously released Dragon Quest 5 written by Takashi Yamazaki (previous works include Space Battleship Yamato and Stand By Me Doraemon) with music composer Koichi Sugiyama (composer for the Dragon Quest series). It is remarked in Netflix as :
Luca follows in his father’s footsteps to rescue his mother from evil Ladja. Finding the heavenly hero who wields the Zenithian sword is his only hope.
The movie features a Zenithian Sword or part of it as parts of its design as the Sword of Light is incorporated at the top of the blade which may hint as part of the Zenithian trilogy. The movie has been tagged by Netflix as Anime for Gamers, Japanese Movies, Anime Based on a Video Game. No release date has been specified in Netflix.
