Thunderful Games had the opportunity to introduce the world to a host of exciting new titles and updates on its anticipated roster at its debut showcase event, Thunderful World. Four interesting titles are Shoot’Em Up titled Swordship in collaboration with developer Digital Kingdom, WaveTale by developer Thunderful Studios, Motorvania Laika: Aged Through Blood by developer Brainwash Gang and White Shadows by developer Monokel. Do enjoy the announcements below and have a great weekend ahead.
A unique shoot ‘em up where you can’t shoot, Swordship has players manoeuvre a speed boat while being chased and attacked by enemies at every corner. With no weapons available, players will need to use the ship’s powerful movement ability to dodge bullets and trick enemies into attacking each other. Look forward to a lot more about Swordship as it nears release in 2022 on PC and Console.
Game Details as shared on Steam:
Dodge attacks to survive and trick your enemies into killing each other
Steal containers and deliver them to upgrade your ship or improve your score
No shooting, but all the action!
In the far future, Earth’s temperature has become too high to live on land. To survive, mankind has built gigantic underwater cities where the upper class lives. The poorest are forced to live on land, hiding in caves and waiting for the sunset to come out. To survive, they steal containers off transport lines that connect underwater cities, mostly without success.
One day, yellow unmanned ships appeared all over the world and start stealing containers. Are they stealing from the rich to give to the poor? Building powerful ships for their own sake? Or just looking for fame?
What does a Shoot’Em Up look like if you remove the shooting? It looks like Swordship: an intense dodge’em up game where placement is everything.

- Guns are cool, but they are bulky and heavy: The Swordship doesn’t have any and that’s part of what makes it so light and manoeuvrable
- Ship variant: Collect power-boosting components and experiment with different play styles in your runs
- Upgrade: Exchange stolen containers for passive upgrades that fit the situation and your play style
- Weather: Learn to master the different weather conditions to get through the randomly generated levels
