Blizzard Entertainment is introducing Hearthstone Mercenaries, an all-new way to play their smash hit digital collectable card game, Hearthstone, with RPG elements, roguelike mechanics and no deck required! In this free-to-play game mode, players will recruit and collect legendary characters from across the Warcraft universe to take down procedurally generated Bounties. Players can mix-and-match over 50 unique Mercenaries (with more to come), each with three upgradeable abilities and potential synergies, to create countless squad combinations. Hearthstone Mercenarieswill launch worldwide on 12 October.
BUILD THE MIGHTIEST TEAM IN ALL OF AZEROTH!
- Powerful Starter Squad: Upon completing the combat and village tutorials, all players will receive eight well-rounded starting Mercenary Cards.
- Fast-paced Turn-based Combat: In head-to-head battles, players choose their moves simultaneously (actions with lower Speed ratings trigger first), until their opponent is defeated.
- Progression: Mercenaries gain experience for defeating enemies and max out at Level 30.
- Collect ’em all: A variety of tasks and Bounties grant Mercenary Coins that can be spent to craft additional Rare, Epic, and Legendary Mercenary Cards. New Mercenaries can also be obtained from Mercenaries Packs, with a guaranteed Mercenary Card or Mercenary Portrait in each pack.
- It Takes a Village: In the Village, the main hub for Mercenaries, players can manage their collection, collect task rewards, upgrade buildings, set off on Bounties, and so much more!
DIABLO COMES TO MERCENARIES
Diablo himself, the Lord of Terror, will be one of the over 50 Mercenaries at launch! He is available as part of one of three pre-purchase bundles, each including an iconic Blizzard character!
Diablo, The Lich King, and Sylvanas are all also obtainable in-game, without purchasing these bundles, from Mercenaries Packs or the crafting system.
GET A SARGE WORLD OF WARCRAFT MOUNT AND MORE
The Hearthstone tavern’s most famous mouse, Sarge, is coming to World of Warcraft—complete the Mercenaries prologue and start your first bounty to receive the Hearthstone Sarge mount.
Additionally, with the purchase of a 6-month WoW subscription, players will receive a slew of Hearthstone goodies, including Mercenaries packs! The subscription offer is valid through 19 October 2021.
