Following the success of the game after its initial release back in 2014 for the PC via Steam, the developer’s over at Croteam together with publisher Nighthawk Interactive is celebrating the fifth anniversary of The Talos Principle with the release of the Deluxe Edition of the game for the Nintendo Switch.
The Talos Principle is a science fiction driven first-person puzzler, that entices the players both in terms of solutions to the challenges and to the philosophical nature of our existence. Tasked by your creator with solving a series of increasingly complex puzzles, you must decide whether to have faith or to ask the difficult questions: Who are you? What is your purpose And what are you going to do about it?
Playing the role of an AI system placed within a simulation of humanity’s greatest ruins, players are challenged to take on these puzzles and eventually reach the pinnacle of what binds these ruins together, an arcane cathedral that is as mysterious as life itself. The game features are:
- Overcome more than 120 immersive puzzles in a stunning world.
- Divert drones, manipulate laser beams and even replicate time to prove your worth – or to find a way out.
- Explore a story about humanity, technology and civilization. Uncover clues, devise theories, and make up your own mind.
- Choose your own path through the game’s non-linear world, solving puzzles your way.
- But remember: choices have consequences and somebody’s always watching you.
The Deluxe Edition of the game brings the Road to Gehenna expansion in addition to the base game content. The expansion delivers a brand new narrative, as well as some of the most advanced and complex puzzles available in the game, spread over four different episodes.
