Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) continues the success of #YourHomeYourArena with a Charity Cup featuring King of Fighters XIV

Following the success of the inaugural Mobile Legends Charity Cup which saw Team Indonesia winning in the finals match on June 11th, AESF and #YourHomeYourArena is back, this time in partnership with SNK to feature the legacy fighting game, The King of Fighters XIV.

The four regions confirmed for the competition are China, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong, China, which will take place on 10th July. SNK made this possible as they share the same goal as AESF for growing the Esports scene in Asia.

Here are the details on the upcoming The King of Fighters XIV Charity Cup:

    Tournament Date: July 10th, 7.00pm (GMT+8)
    • Game Title: The King of Fighters XIV
    • Confirmed Participations from: China, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong, China
    • Stream: Youtube, Twitch, Facebook, DOUYU, BILIBILI and HUYA.

With its main goal of uniting the Esports community through the power of social media, YourHomeYourArena (YHYA) serves an ultimate goal of providing assistance to the vulnerable communities who have been adversely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic through Esports activities, crowdfunding and fundraising drive.

“I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude to our friends at SNK
who made this tournament possible. Your willingness to contribute and play a major part in ensuring
this event takes off is highly appreciated and we will always be here to support and drive Asian
Esports to a greater height. “In addition to that, this #YourHomeYourArena initiative would not have been possible without the involvement of everyone. Like traditional sports, Esports thrive on viewership and fans involvement hence partnerships with such services are equally important. Needless to say, I look forward to many more similar partnerships and collaborations in the future!

    Kenneth Fok – AESF President

Also sharing his comments on the AESF YHYA The King of Fighters XIV Charity Cup, the Chairman of SNK , Mr. Ge Zhihui had this to say :-

“I am thrilled to have SNK be part of this initiative which is a great representation of the Esports
commitment to excel not just in-game, but in society as well. Covid-19 has brought many hardships
to everyone and I feel it is our duty as a society to help those who are affected by it more than others. I look forward to many more initiatives such as this, and of course, a continuous and productive relationship with the AESF in the future”

The core objectives of the YHYA campaign include:

    1. To unite the Esports community by working together with member associations, publishers, Esports athletes and Esports fans

    2. To provide a source of entertainment to our community during this trying time in the comfort of their homes through Your Home, Your Arena Charity Cup

    3. To promote the importance of helping the community in need and further extend our assistance to those communities.

AESF is doing what they can to help support those in need during these trying times as they are aware that many livelihoods affected as well as communities being financially hit due to subsequent effects of the steps taken to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Operating in capacity as the ‘Official Charity Fundraising Platform’ for YHYA is GIVE.asia, an online portal which hosts multiple causes to raise funding for vulnerable communities who have been adversely impacted by the global pandemic.

Through this platform, the AESF hopes to actively spread the message of the campaign as well as reach out to both Esports and non-Esports communities. Contributions and donations can be done here and for more info, head on over to AESF website.
